Teaching to Master and Bachelor students

University life is always about teaching! This way, knowledge and academic skills are transferred from one expert to the next generation of experts.

Having taught to Master or Bachelor students will be one of your key qualifications when you obtain a doctoral degree/PhD from us. Hence, we deliberately include our PhD students into the education endeavours of our faculty and entrust them with important tasks. This fact is also acknowledged in the PhD regulations of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy (see also www.physik.uni-jena.de/en/promotion --> PhD regulations).

There are many attractive opportunities for English speaking PhD students to fulfill their teaching duties, e.g. to obtain a PhD in Physics.

The hands-on course "Experimental Optics"  is always looking for supervisors!

The courses will be hold as a block courses such that the workload is concentrated on two or three weeks only. You first have to familiarize with the experiments and will then supervise 1st semester M.Sc. Photonics students in small groups. As a special feature, when supporting this Course you may also get engaged in and learn about modern teaching methods like digitally or remotely controllable experimental setups.
