Since 2016, the Abbe Center of Photonics at the Beutenberg Campus is hosting more than eight research groups and more that 90 scientists of the University from all the different departments and institutes. The building offers 2,600 m² space for functionalized optical, biological and chemical labs, seminar rooms, offices and an auditorium. Thus, it has quickly developed into the primary hot-spot for Jena's interdisciplinary research exchanges and cooperations. Further, the new building increasingly allows for the enhanced integration of ACP's photonics educational programs into its research program.
